Nanaimo Community Action Team – Community Grants

The Nanaimo CAT is launching a small community grant process with one goal in mind: To reduce use of substances, overdoses, deaths and trauma related to opioid use through the work of innovative community-led initiatives for supportive environments.

Small grants between $1000 and $5000 ($25,000 funding in total) will be awarded to eligible community organizations in the Greater Nanaimo area (Nanoose to Yellowpoint). 

Application Deadline:  Friday March 6, 2020 using the online application.

Applications are encouraged to use unique and creative approaches related to the four core elements of supportive environments including:

  1. Social stabilization;
  2. Peer empowerment and employment;
  3. Cultural safety and humility;
  4. Addressing stigma, discrimination and human rights.
