For the past two years, the Nanaimo Homeless Coalition has worked to become a hub of accurate and timely information about homelessness in Nanaimo.
Through our communications, we have told the stories of people facing homelessness, featured many dedicated frontline workers, and offered up-to-date information about programs, resources and funding opportunities.
While focusing on what’s happening in Nanaimo right now, we also wanted to dicypher the complexity of homelessness and to have real conversations about the impacts of this crisis on our community. We also made it our mission to offer information and education about paths into homelessness and the real impacts of homelessness through our blog posts, website, newsletter and social media.
To develop this important content, the Nanaimo Homeless Coalition has been dependent on grants to fund the management of all our communications. Unfortunately, on October 31, 2021 that funding ended and there is no longer financial support for this work. We are very grateful to have been able to be a part of this community, and while we’re putting a pause on our communications, the information on this website still remains relevant.
The Nanaimo Homeless Coalition is formed of voices in our community who are professionally and/or personally impacted by homelessness. These voices have been reflected in our work and we hope to continue echoing their stories and information in the near future. Our aim is to once again become Nanaimo’s source for all information, resources and updates on homelessness.
Thank you for your support.
